Ice-Capades

Lace up your skates—a number of places around Munich will be offering public skating sessions this winter.

Skating at the Prinzregentenstadion (Prinzregentenstrasse 80), with music and floodlights, takes place Mon. and Wed., 9 am–4 pm, Tues. 9 am–10 pm and Thurs.–Sun., 9 am–10 pm. Admission costs € 3.50 for adults and € 2.50 for children.

The Eis- und Funsportzentrum has an indoor and an outdoor rink at Staudingerstrasse 17 and an indoor rink only at Agnes-Bernauer-Strasse 241. Adults skate for € 3, those aged six to 18 pay € 2. Though both locations are open most days starting at 9:30 am, it is best to call Tel. 63 01 91 47 or 89 68 90 07 for exact skating times.

The Munich Airport Visitor Center also features an ice skating rink alongside its Christmas market, which is open through December 23. The rink is open Mon.–Fri., 2 pm–9 pm and Sat.–Sun., 11 am–9 pm. Skating is free, but skate rental is € 2.50.

The Olympia Eissportzentrum holds its public skating sessions Mon. and Tues., 10 am–noon and 1:30 pm–4 pm, Wed.–Sun., 10 am–noon, 1:30 pm–4 pm and 8 pm–10:30 pm. Admission is € 3.

The outdoor rink at Stachus—always guaranteed to give the pedestrian zone an added touch of winter flair—will be up and running again from November 25–January 29. The rink is open daily from 10 am to 10 pm. For details, see www.muenchnereiszauber.de.
