Rub a Dub and Relax at Therme Erding

Summer may be coming to an end, but you still have time to realize the idyllic holiday you were dreaming of all winter. Located just outside of Munich, the bath and relaxation complex Therme Erding offers the fun, relaxation and luxuriousness of an exclusive beach club—no passport or full purse required.

The developers of the resort seem to have brought the best of the world of leisure under one roof. A beer garden flanked by palm trees is suffused with the laid-back charm of Key West. The cool marble of the Roman baths lets visitors indulge in a bit of classic decadence. The turquoise blue water, palm trees and sandy beaches of the bath paradise are a postcard of the South Seas.

Even if you should get bored of lying around and feeling wonderful, other attractions such as the Sauna Paradise, Steam Bath, and Carbon Garden are all included in the price. What’s more, until September 9, Therme Erding is featuring such special vacation programs as Fiesta Musica (Sept. 2, 6 pm–10 pm), the Balla-Balla-Ballonshow (Sept. 5, 2 pm–4:30 pm) and a jungle excursion with Tarzan (Sept. 9, 2 pm–4:30 pm). From October 9–13, they will feature a fall wellness week, featuring various programs to make you sweat before you chill out.

Therme Erding lies about 36 km northeast of Munich and can be reached in 30–45 minutes on the A3. You can also take the S2 to Altenerding and the 550 or 560 shuttle bus (Monday–Friday only) right to the door. For more detailed directions, further information and pictures of “Germany's best baths,” visit the Therme Erding website.

This month, new subscribers to MunichFound will be entered into a raffle for free passes to Therme Erding! Two winners will each receive two day-tickets. Get your subscription on this website or call 480 88 70.
