Munich Book Show
Frankfurt might get all of the press attention, but the Munich Book Show has been going strong for 47 years. This year, from November 16 to December 3, Gasteig will house more than 20,000 books from 300 publishers, for an expected 160,000 visitors to peruse. A program of presentations, readings, discussions and signings is also planned, with such confirmed celebrity participants as Florian Illies, Heike Makatsch and Reinhold Messner. A special kids' program featuring readings and contests will ensure that even future bibliophiles can join in the fun. The full schedule of events and ticket prices for each is available
here. The regular exhibition area will be open daily from 8 am to
11:30 pm, and entry will be free.
