Munich Hits the Books

The 48th Munich Book Show will offer more than 20,000 books from 250 publishers in a bibliophiles paradise titled “Read, Listen, Discover” between Novemer 14 and December 2 at Gasteig. A highlight of the event are appearances by more than a dozen well-known authors, including Barbara Vine, Wladimir Kaminer, Margriet de Moor, Cornelia Funke, Marc Levy, and Fay Weldon. A special focus of the show is children’s literature, from stories that evoke laughter and compassion, to demanding discussions about society and history. Kids will find everything from tricky detective novels to the best-loved classics so there is sure to be something for every reader and level. Hours are 8 am to 11:30 pm. Tickets for the author events range from € 6 and € 10 up to € 15 for Iris Berben reading Frida Kahlo: I Send You My Whole Heart.
