Summer Festivals
A plethora of festivals from jazz, pop and rock to classical music will entertain Bavaria during July and August. The following is a selection of the finest events:
01-17.07 Dachauer Musiksommer

03.07-02.08 Audi Summer Concerts
Hosted by the famous car manufacturer Audi in Ingolstadt, tenor Juan Diego Flórez, the great percussionist Martin Grubinger and conductor Sir Neville Marriner with his Academy of St. Martin in the Fields orchestra will be among the performers. All concerts are listed at

15-27.07 Herrenchiemsee Festival

17-20.07 Abc Fesitval – Augsburg
Brecht Connected
This festival was organized by Munich poet Albert Ostermaier in honor of Augsburg’s famous son, Bertolt Brecht. Alongside readings, exhibitions and theater performances, there will be numerous concerts and parties celebrating Brecht. For more information, visit

07-28.08 Bayreuther Festspiele
It is almost impossible to get tickets for this annual (almost sacred) Wagner festival. Still, if you would like to stay updated on the performances, go to

26.07 Oben Ohne
Hip hop artists Dendemann, Texta, La Banda and many more will shake up Munich’s Bavariapark from 1 pm through 10 pm. The full line-up is listed at

26.07-31.08 Salzburger Festspiele

14-16.08 Frequency
