Open Air concerts in Munich

Take it outside Spring is in the air, and if you listen attentively, so too is the sound of music. Try substituting a little concert culture for the neighborhood beer garden and head to one of Munich’s many open air performances. The Brunnenhof fountain garden at the Residenz begins its open-air season on Saturday, June 19 with the Munich Symphony’s performance of Tschaikosky’s “Romeo and Juliet.” It continues the Shakespearean theme for the final open-air concert on July 29, with Mendelssohn’s “Midsummer Night’s Dream.” The Brunnenhof’s summer lineup includes works by Bach, Vivaldi, the Hungarian National Gypsy Orchestra, Louisiana gospel singers and a night of swing music, plus additional performances by the Munich Symphony. The rain venue for all performances is the Herkulessaal, also in the Residenz. For more information and online ticket purchasing, check out or contact any of the major ticket companies in Munich. Other outdoor concert venues include: Seebühne im Westpark, Würminsel im Klostergarten Pasing and Königsplatz.
