Master Blaster

Bondi Australian Café-Bar at Sonnenstrasse 8 may be 200,045 miles from its sunkissed namesake, but it is no less exciting! As well as offering all the things you would expect of any good Aussie bar—great tucker and grog (Australian for food and drink), live music and sport, sport and more sport—Bondi also holds didgeridoo workshops. The last Monday of each month is your chance to learn the art from Aussie didge virtuoso Dean Wilmington. The beginners’ workshop starts at 7 pm and the advanced at 8 pm (both cost € 5), then, at 9 pm, you can join an open session. If you would prefer not to take part but just hear the master in action, check out Dean and his band, Termites at Work, on the first Saturday of every month at Bondi. Their music is an exotic mixture of ethno, jazz, funk and tribal, spiced with positive vibes. So your next great night out is only a boomerang’s throw away.
