You can’t get much more stylish than abovo, an interiors shop that has been selling an inspired collection of designer objects in the Gärtnerplatz district for some time now. Taking the concept of abovo one step further, the American-born owner, Lisa Graef, has opened a new shop in the historic Rosipal Haus on Reichenbachplatz, where along with the home collection, an ongoing series of temporary exhibitions features the work of young designers from around the world. Graef aims to present an eclectic mix of art and utility and the first exhibition, “Art meets Function,” organized in collaboration with the British European Design Group, does exactly that: see designer Finn Stone’s interpretation of a chair or, the Chinese designer Win Hang Yip’s table with interlocking wooden base.
