April 2004

Ware-to-go

From April 24 to May 2, the first Auer Dult of the year, the Maidult, will take place. This historic fair held on Mariahilfplatz in the Au district, first documented in 1310, has retained its traditional atmosphere. Whether shopping for cloth or leather, porcelain or glass, rare prints, art or books, you will find it all here. The Auer Dult is Europe’s largest market for tableware and pots and pans, so it’s an ideal place to stock up on inexpensive or unusual crockery. If browsing and shopping is not your idea of fun, there are other options. You can take a ride on the merry-go-round, watch a puppet show, sample the popular delicacy of grilled fish or enjoy a portion of apple strudel. Tuesday, April 27, is children’s day and the best time to get special deals. For more information visit www.auerdult.de.
