Simply Toll

Does the cold weather make you want to hibernate until summer? Tollwood Winter Festival should be enough to coax you from your cozy home. The Theresienwiese is transformed into a winter wonderland from November 25 until December 31. The unique market, open Monday to Friday from 2 pm to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to midnight, is one of Munich’s most atmospheric and laid-back places to buy unusual Christmas gifts. Tollwood also offers delicious food from around the world, and a jam-packed cultural program, including theater, dance, readings, concerts and performances. A new addition to the program is the Puppentheater-Zelt, where you can watch shows featuring 27 marionettes. The festival culminates in a huge New Year’s Eve party. So put on some warm clothes, sip a hot Glühwein and head out to the Theresienwiese. For more information visit www.tollwood.de.
