Ethno Film Fest

November 16–November 20:
The State Museum of Ethnology will schedule a programming of international documentaries, all of which have been shot from an ethnologist’s perspective.

Ethno Filmfest 11 276x

The exciting lives of common people from all over the world will be explored by way of several documentaries as part of the Ethno Film Fest. Among the portrayed individuals, will, for example, be a group of feminists applying unusual methods to fight for women's rights in India, a cattle growing couple in Tibet or a Japanese washer of corpses. The Ethno Filmfest, however, will also show that filmmakers need not travel far to encounter astonishing rituals such as a Cologne group of enthusiasts who dress up as Vikings or the fate of three Lebanese brothers and their assimilation efforts in Berlin. Most films will be presented in their original language with German (abbreviation: OmdtU) or English (OmeU) subtitles. For more information, visit voelkerkundemuseum-muenchen.de.
